QC—01Four gates · Documented · Auditable

Four gates between
your brief and
your warehouse.

Custom food packaging fails quietly — color drifts a half-shade, a valve seats off-center, a heat seal weakens in week three of transit. We catch those failures four times: at the dock, on the press, after lamination, and before the container leaves. Every gate is logged. Every report ships with the goods.

01The four gates

Each gate has a checklist, a signed-off operator, and a written record.

GATE 01

Inbound material inspection

Day 1 — material receipt
  • 01Roll-stock COA verification against PO
  • 02Thickness, web width, treatment value (dyne)
  • 03OTR / WVTR spot-check on barrier films
  • 04FSC / FDA / EU compliance paperwork archived

If it fails: Non-conforming rolls returned to supplier within 24h.

GATE 02

In-line web inspection

During press run
  • 01100% web inspected by camera (BST / EyeC equivalent)
  • 02Spectrophotometer reading every 200 m, ΔE < 2.0
  • 03Registration mark tolerance ≤ 0.15 mm
  • 04Operator visual check every 30 min

If it fails: Out-of-spec sections marked for slitting waste; root cause logged.

GATE 03

Post-press color & structural

After lamination / bag-making
  • 01Lamination bond strength tested per shift
  • 02Heat-seal strength tested at 3 temperatures
  • 03Pinhole detection on barrier laminates
  • 04Color reference card matched against retain sample

If it fails: Failing lots rerun or downgraded; never blended into ship lot.

GATE 04

Pre-ship random audit

Before sealing the container
  • 01AQL 2.5 sampling per ISO 2859-1
  • 02Functional test: zipper, valve, tear-notch, fold
  • 03Carton count and palletizing validated
  • 04Final QC report signed and bundled with B/L

If it fails: Failed lot held; client notified before ship date.

02The instruments

The kit on the QC bench.

01

Spectrophotometer (X-Rite eXact)

Press-side color measurement. ΔE calibration to physical Pantone reference.

02

Web inspection cameras

BST / EyeC class, full-web 100% inspection during roll-to-roll print.

03

Tensile / seal-strength tester

Per-shift heat-seal validation at 3 dwell temperatures.

04

OTR / WVTR analyzer

Mocon-equivalent. Oxygen and moisture transmission tested per barrier lot.

05

Migration test (outsourced)

EU 10/2011 and FDA 21 CFR test panel run at accredited third-party lab per stack.

06

Microscope + thickness gauge

Layer-thickness verification on laminate cross-sections.

03What you get

Documentation bundle shipped with every container.

Quality assurance is only credible if it is verifiable. With every shipment we attach a documentation bundle that lets your QA team trace any deviation back to a press run, a shift, an operator, and a physical retain sample held in our archive.

On annual contracts we publish a quarterly defect-rate dashboard, broken down by SKU and press, so you can see how your account is tracking before issues surface.

  • 01Material Certificate of Analysis (per roll lot)
  • 02Migration test report (EU 10/2011 + FDA 21 CFR)
  • 03Heat-seal strength report (per shift)
  • 04Color match report (per SKU, with ΔE values)
  • 05Bond strength report (laminate construction)
  • 06AQL inspection report (pre-ship)
  • 07FSC chain-of-custody certificate (paper stocks)
  • 08Halal / Kosher certificates (on request)
04FAQ

What buyers ask about our QC.

What AQL level do you ship to?

Standard outgoing AQL is 2.5 per ISO 2859-1. Critical defects tracked separately at AQL 0.65. Clients can request tighter AQL at quote stage.

Do you provide retain samples?

Yes. We keep one signed retain sample per SKU per batch for 24 months, with run conditions logged. Any future quality dispute is reconciled against this reference.

Can my team join an inspection?

Yes. We host pre-ship inspections in-person or via live video. We also support third-party inspection bookings (SGS / Bureau Veritas / Intertek) at client cost.

What happens if a batch fails QC?

The lot is held — never blended into a passing batch. We notify your buyer within 24 hours with a root-cause report and offer a rerun or partial-ship plan in writing.

Are migration test reports current?

Migration tests are revalidated annually per stack, or whenever a material supplier changes. The current report is included with every shipment using that stack.

How do you handle Pantone matching?

We target ΔE < 2.0 against a physical Pantone Solid Coated reference. Brand color libraries (custom Pantones) are kept on file and re-validated on each press run.
