Paper + foil + poly:
barrier, heat-seal and print in one stock.
The PE layer does double duty: grease barrier and heat-seal.
Foil-coated paper combines three jobs in one web: the paper prints and stiffens, the foil blocks light/oxygen/moisture, and the PE coat both seals (heat-sealable pouches and sachets) and adds a grease barrier. A versatile converter and co-packer stock. See our aluminium foil guide and PE film guide.
What buyers ask before placing an order.
What's the difference vs foil-laminated paper?
Foil-laminated paper bonds foil to glassine/MG with a wax or laminating adhesive (a fold-and-wrap material). Foil-coated paper adds a PE extrusion coat, which makes it heat-sealable and adds a moisture/grease barrier — so it's used for sachets, liners and as lamination/converting stock, not just wrapping.
Is it heat-sealable?
Yes — the PE coat seals to itself (and to PE-coated surfaces) for form-fill-seal sachets, stick packs and liners. Specify 1-side or 2-side PE depending on whether you need seal on one or both faces.
Can I run it on my converting line?
Yes — supplied as reel stock slit to your web width (±0.5mm) on cores to your spec. It's a common base web for further lamination, printing or pouch-making by converters and co-packers.
How good is the moisture barrier?
WVTR below 1 g/m²·24h thanks to the continuous foil layer plus PE coat — strong enough for moisture-sensitive powders, dry mixes and sachets.
Can it be printed?
Yes — up to 8 colours flexo or gravure on the paper face, or supplied plain as base stock for downstream printing. Food-contact compliant with FDA/EU documentation.
What's the MOQ and minimum web width?
Practical minimum is a 1-tonne reel per spec, 20–22 days, slit to your web width (±0.5mm). We send a sample roll for seal and barrier testing on your converting or FFS line before the full order.
