Paper for print and stiffness,
foil for barrier and fold.
The laminate must fold crisp and never delaminate around grease.
Foil-laminated paper is the traditional butter-block wrap because it folds crisp, holds the fold, and the foil blocks the light and oxygen that turn fat rancid — while the paper face takes print and adds stiffness. Bond integrity against grease is the key QC point. Related: butter wrapping paper.
What buyers ask before placing an order.
Why laminate foil to paper instead of plain foil?
Paper backing adds stiffness (crisper folds, easier machine handling), a printable matte face for branding, and a more premium hand-feel. Plain foil is lighter and cheaper but limp and harder to print. For butter blocks and premium bars, foil-laminated paper is the traditional choice.
Glassine, MG or kraft paper?
Glassine gives the smoothest, most grease-resistant face for butter and fat-rich products; MG (machine-glazed) is a cost-effective semi-gloss; kraft gives a natural/eco look. We'll recommend based on grease load and the look you want.
Will it hold up against butter and fats?
Yes — the foil is a total fat and oxygen barrier and the glassine/MG face resists grease strike-through (Kit 9+). We test bond strength against grease so the laminate never delaminates in contact with fatty product.
Can it be pre-folded for our wrapping machine?
Yes — supplied on reel for automatic wrappers, flat sheets, or pre-folded blanks cut and creased to your dieline for semi-auto and hand wrapping.
Is it food-contact safe?
Yes — food-safe laminating adhesive and food-contact foil, compliant to FDA 21 CFR and EU 10/2011 + 1935/2004, with migration documentation in every shipment.
What's the MOQ and can I get samples?
From a 1-tonne reel or 100,000 sheets, 18–22 days. We send laminate swatches (foil + glassine/MG) so you can check fold, print face and grease resistance before the full order.
