Holds clean on glass, PE, BOPP, kraft, and steel — across the temperature range.
Standard food-safe acrylic adhesive holds firm across the temperature range a chilled-to-room journey covers. For frozen products (ice cream, frozen meals at -20°C+ continuous), spec freezer-grade. For wet exposure (beverage labels, beer cans condensation), spec wet-strength face stock + freezer adhesive.
What buyers ask before placing an order.
What's the smallest order on custom labels?
1,000 labels per design on flexo, 250 on digital print. For ultra-low MOQ (100–250 labels) on first-time SKU validation, digital is the only option — at higher per-unit cost but no plate setup. Useful for Kickstarter-stage brands and recipe-testing.
Food-safe adhesive — what does that mean?
Our standard acrylic adhesive is FDA 21 CFR 175.105 compliant for indirect food contact (label on the outside of food packaging). For direct food contact (label on a piece of fruit, label on an unwrapped chocolate), we use a separate certified direct-contact adhesive — specify at quote stage. Both pass migration testing for typical food simulants.
Can you print variable data — barcodes, batch numbers, expiry dates?
Yes. Digital print (HP Indigo) can incorporate variable data — each label can carry a unique barcode, serial number, batch code, or expiry date with zero per-unit setup cost. For high-volume runs we can also do inline thermal-transfer overprinting after the main flexo print. Useful for FBA serialization and lot traceability.
Round, square, custom shape — which is cheapest?
Standard shapes (round, square, rectangular) on our existing die library are no-cost. Custom dies (logo silhouette, scalloped edge, hexagonal) have a one-time tooling cost of $80–$240 depending on complexity. The die pays for itself across the first 5,000-label run typically.
Roll format and core size?
Standard 76mm (3-inch) cardboard core with wound-out direction (label-side outward), which is what most automatic label applicators expect. Other formats available on request — 25mm or 40mm cores for slow-speed equipment, fan-fold for hand-application.
Can you do hot-foil stamp on labels?
Yes — gold/silver/copper/holographic foil stamp on labels is a popular premium-tier add. Cost is roughly $0.04–$0.08 per label at run scale. Combined with a soft-touch laminate face stock, you get the same tactile premium-tier signal as full-foil-stamped packaging at a fraction of the cost.
